How we edited them
Photographs taken from the 3D tour of March 2022: they are still images from the flat's virtual tour, scanned on 1 March 2022 and captured in the viewer on 16 March 2022; the furniture and objects are those of that time, and the present condition should be checked at a viewing. 7 of the 16 published photographs went through a generative image model (Google's Nano Banana family, used via the Higgsfield platform), in a limited way: the pixels are those of the original snapshot, and only the spots where something was removed come from the model, between 0.07% and 16% of each image. Removed: a robot vacuum cleaner on the floor in two photographs of the living room, with a power strip and its cable; in the study a bag from the bottom shelf of the bookcase, a laptop and a book from the desk, a small box, a small pile of books and small items from the shelf, and a dark object, probably a waste bin, under the desk; in the bathrooms toothbrushes (including electric ones, with their charging bases and cables), bottles, jars and toiletries, a packet of wipes, two towels and three bath mats. The other nine (one of the living room, both of the kitchen, both of the double bedroom, the second bedroom, both of the balcony and the view of the Teatro Verdi) did not go through artificial intelligence. All furniture, paintings and prints, lamps and televisions were deliberately left, as were the electronic devices on the living-room console, a remote control on the television cabinet in the double bedroom, a few books standing on the study shelves, the cube shelves in the bathroom with the shower with their towels and bottles, a cable beside the mirror in the same bathroom and the sockets with their plugs in the bathroom with the bathtub. Where an object was removed, the part of wall, floor, worktop, shelf or mirror it concealed was not photographed: the model reconstructed it plausibly; in the bathroom with the bathtub the reflection in the mirror where the bottles were reflected and the stretch of towel rail covered by the towel are also reconstructed, and in the third bathroom the glass dish of the soap holder. Nothing else was altered: dimensions, heights, openings, floors, windows and doors, services and finishes are as photographed; no obvious defects are visible in the snapshots, and none has been softened or hidden. The views of Piazza Verdi and the Teatro Verdi did not go through the model: they are the original snapshots with only light and colour corrected, and in the long view of the balcony the faces of two passers-by have been blurred; the view is the one of March 2022, with the construction crane of that time, and since 2026 the façade of the Teatro Verdi has been covered by restoration scaffolding. By hand, without the model, the verticals were straightened in nine photographs, with an edge crop of between 3% and 10%. Light and colour were corrected as in normal photographic retouching. The unaltered original photographs are available on request; a viewing remains the only reliable reference for the actual condition of the property.
